Donors have found that a planned gift, creatively structured to provide tax advantages and life income, can provide an ideal opportunity to support the institution they love, at a higher level than they had thought possible. Planned gifts may support the Library’s general purposes, or we will be pleased to work with you to designate your support for a special purpose, such as an endowment for a particular program or collection. Gifts may also be designated for the Parkway Central Library or a particular branch.
There are multiple ways to give and many different assets you can use. From a simple bequest to more complex arrangements, we welcome the opportunity to assist you and your advisors in planning a contribution that suits your particular needs.
We are proud to honor donors who have remembered the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation in their estate plans with membership in The Benoliel Society, named for D. Jacques Benoliel, a Philadelphia philanthropist and a lifelong collector of Charles Dickens’s personal letters. Upon his death Mr. Benoliel willed his collection to the Free Library, and it is now part of our significant and rare Dickens Collection housed in the Rare Book Department of the Parkway Central Library. The Benoliel Society members carry on this splendid tradition to ensure the future of the Free Library of Philadelphia.
